Moving to a new country for children is never easy. While some may adjust to their new environment with ease and curiosity, others may struggle. From the look, feel, to even the smell of everything in the host country, it can be a lot for a child to process.
A creative, listening circle where Expat-Internationals children can come together to share experiences and make digital art under the guidance of a professional Art Psychotherapist can help them to feel connected, safe and supported, without fear of consequence and/or judgement, in turn helping them to better adapt and thrive in their new place. It is also a unique opportunity for a child to make new friends and foster deeper networks of belonging.
The Online Expat-Internationals Children’s Listening Circles welcomes several groups of children by age to participate in an open digital (ie on the computer) art studio setting and on an ongoing basis:
Yellow Group: ages 7 to 9-this group will mainly make art and share their creations together. Meet every Monday at 4-5pm.
Orange Group: ages 9 to 12-this group will be discussing via prompts or collective issues, making art and sharing end products. Meet every Tuesday at 4-5pm.
Teal Group: ages 13 to 15-this group will be discussing via prompts or collective issues, making art and sharing end products. Meet every Wednesday at 4-5pm.
Purple Group: ages 16 to 19-this group has a choice of: a) mainly discussing; b) discussing and making art; or c) making art and sharing. Meet every Thursday at 4-5pm.
